Association des journalistes haitiens (AJH) with the support of UNESCO and International Media Support (IMS) organized a training for Haitian journalists on election coverage before the presidential and legislative election of the 28 November 2010.
Around 300 journalists from 10 different regions of the country were concerned by this training.
During the training in Les Gonaives, located in Artibonite, the journalists received information on the political system in Haiti, competence and attributions of the different institutional bodies (Presidency, Senate, and Chamber of Deputies), issue of violence, polls, etc.
The training included practical workshops where journalists plaid politicians, like president, Member of Parlement, Member of Senat, and had to answer questions from journalists. The fake “press conference” was followed by a session of feed back between trainer and the journalists.
