Meletij Smotrickij
Gramatika Slavenskija pravilnoje Sintagma…
Evju, 1619. [4], 248 p.
A Slav Grammar, the most important work by philologist and church activist Meletij Smotricki (1578-1633), was published in the small Lithuanian town of Vievis, which at that time was home to the Russian Brotherhood Printers of the Holy Spirit Monastery, printing Orthodox books. This grammar by M. Smotricki played a large role in the development of Slav philology, and was a text book for Michail Lomonosov (1711-1765), founder of the University of Moscow.
