The Structure of the Human Body, a work by one of the founders of the study of anatomy in Europe, A. Vesalius (1514-1564); abundantly illustrated with copper engravings. It contains descriptions of the human skeleton, arteries, nerves and organs, with functions, as well as corrections of errors made by other discoverers of anatomy. The work was first published in 1543, and in many more editions after that.
