Medical Observations, a work by Dutch physician, founder of the medical college in Amsterdam, N. Tulpius (Nicolas Dirx, 1593-1674). Published first in 1641, and later reprinted several times. Rembrandt has painted a portrait of N. Tulpius lecturing.
