Statut Velikogo Kniazstva Litovskogo…
Vilna: tip. Mamonichej, 1588. [310] p.
The third editing of the first printed body of laws of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The most outstanding publication by the Mamonich Printers, which functioned in Vilnius from 1574 to 1623. The Statute was translated into Polish in 1614, and later reprinted many times. One of the most advanced bodies of law in Europe at that time, and used as an example for the formation of a code of laws for Prussia, Russia, and the Ukraine. It was deemed valid until 1840, when Russian law was introduced into Lithuania.
