[al-Z£] is the name given to astronomical tables indicating the geographical position in the seven regions of earth, mathematically calculated by longitudinal and latitudinal lines. The first of these tables was the one known as the [Z£ al-BatŠn£] who died in 317H/929AD. The last is the one calculated by ( ’UlŽ Bik) the grandson of (Taymšr Lank) who died in 853 /1449AD. The author here calculated the movement of the planets in their orbits according to the Arabic calendar which starts with the [Hira] (the voyage of the prophet Muammad from [Mikkah] to [Mad£nah] where he established the new state, the most famous event in Islamic history. The first day of the first year of the Hira was a Thursday the 1st of [Muarram] (the first month in the Higr£ calendar) from which started the calculation of the Higr£ calendar. The articles of this book ends in folio number 57. The letters inserted inside the text are written in red, green and yellow ink, while the commentaries are written in black. On the margins we find the excellent commentaries written carefully in fine order in black, green and red ink. The complementary tables start with a table of concordance between the Roman, Coptic, Persian and Higr£ dates. This table starts in the folio number 58, the other tables continued till the end of this [Z£] in number 96. This copy is written in modern [Nas¢] script, and was finished on Wednesday the 19th of [}£ al-€ia] 1341H.
