Librarians of six national institutions are given training in library skills, archiving, English language and indexing from September 2005 to March 2006 (with breaks in between because of Ramadan, bad weather and security issues). The institutions were Kabul University Library; Kabul Polytechnic University Library; Kabul Medical University Library; Education University Library; Academy of Sciences Library and ACBAR (Agency Coordinating Body for Afghanistan) Resource and Information Centre (ARIC). The training was organized by the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit (Head Librarian Royce Wiles), and implemented by ITG Group. The graduation ceremony in March was attended by the UNESCO CI Consultant Roxanna Shapour who gave out certificates.
