The ERTV transmitter arrived in October 2005 and BBC engineer Dave Stanley was contracted to install it on Asmai Mountain, a site owned by NRTA and overlooking Kabul. However a sacred Hindu rock occupied the place chosen for the transmitter and UNESCO facilitated consultations among the Hindu community, NRTA and ERTV to reassure the Hindu community that UNESCO would respect their site and also support landscaping if required. A private telephone company, offered to construct a Temple for the rock, and this is what the images show.
