Contributions are welcomed from all media professionals: men, women, media owners and managers, policy makes etc. Your contribution should highlight your experiences (direct or observed) and best practices in advocating for, developing and implementing policies to ensure equality for women journalists. These policies could refer to specific themes such as equal pay and opportunities for promotion, working in conflict or post conflict zones, gender stereotyping, monitoring policy implementation etc. The stories could be about specific media houses, journalists’ associations or unions, media training institutions etc. These include mainstream as well as community media organisations and could span community, national, regional or international levels.
Finally your contribution could also consider the United Nations global theme for the International Women’s Day, “Women and men united to end violence against women and girls”, in relation to policy advocacy and development and the role of the media.
