Towards Knowledge Societies: ICT for Development

The creation of CICT project was proposed by the Internet Society of Ghana (ISOG) at a National ICT Roundtable Conference organised jointly by ISOG, the International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD) and the Ministry of Communication in May 1998. CICT is envisaged to be an intensive training and information service oriented center with a mission to help bridge the gap between the more developed industrialised world and the less developed West African country Ghana in the areas of Information and Communication Technology and to bridge the gap between conventional training in ICT and ICT skills needed in the industry, through life-long learning programmes, research and development and working in partnership with academia and industry.
